# Agent-Friendly Ecommerce Store Scorer > A free tool by Medusa (https://medusajs.com) that scores how well an ecommerce store works with AI agents: whether agents can reach it, read its product data, use its controls, and buy through agentic commerce protocols. Every failing check comes with a prompt to paste into a coding agent to fix it. ## Scan a store - `POST https://is-agentic-storefront.com/api/scan` with header `content-type: application/json` and body `{"url": "https://example-store.com"}`. Takes 10–20 seconds. - Or `GET https://is-agentic-storefront.com/api/scan?url=https%3A%2F%2Fexample-store.com` (URL-encode the store URL). Same response. - Example: `curl -X POST https://is-agentic-storefront.com/api/scan -H 'content-type: application/json' -d '{"url":"https://example-store.com"}'` - In a WebMCP-enabled browser, every page registers the `get_store_agent_score` tool (input `{ url }`), which returns the same JSON. - Without JavaScript, open `https://is-agentic-storefront.com/scan?url=https%3A%2F%2Fexample-store.com&render=server` for the same results as HTML. ## Response - `overallScore` (0–100) and `grade` (A ≥ 90, B ≥ 75, C ≥ 60, D ≥ 40, F below). - `platform`: detected platform (e.g. `medusa`, `nextjs`) or `unknown`. `pagesSampled`: homepage plus sampled product pages. - `categories[]`: `{ id, name, weight, score }` for access, product-data, discovery, operability and agentic-commerce. `score` is null when nothing in the category could be scored. - `criteria[]`: `{ id, name, category, status, weight, bonus, findings[], spec: { name, url }, fixPrompt }`. - `status`: pass | partial | fail | inconclusive | error | skipped. Inconclusive, skipped and error checks don't count toward the score. - `weight`: 3 high, 2 medium, 1 low impact. `bonus` checks only add to the score; missing them costs nothing. - `findings`: array of plain-text strings describing what the scanner saw (the evidence for the status). There is no `evidence` field. - `fixPrompt`: instructions for a coding agent; empty when the check passes. ## Errors Errors return `{ "error": string, "reason"?: "blocked" | "unreachable" }`: - 400: missing or invalid URL, or a URL that points to a private network. Includes a `usage` hint. - 405: unsupported HTTP method. Use GET or POST. - 422: the store blocked the scanner (`reason: "blocked"`, usually bot protection) or was unreachable (`reason: "unreachable"`). - 429: rate limited. Wait for the `retry-after` header (60 seconds). Results are cached for 10 minutes per URL. ## Guides - [Agent-ready ecommerce: how to make your store work with AI agents](https://is-agentic-storefront.com/guides/agent-ready-ecommerce.md): What an agent-ready ecommerce store is, how AI shopping agents read and use stores, and a 29-point checklist from bot access to agentic checkout. - [Agentic commerce protocols explained: UCP, ACP, MCP, A2A, AP2, WebMCP](https://is-agentic-storefront.com/guides/agentic-commerce-protocols.md): What UCP, ACP, MCP, A2A, AP2 and WebMCP do, who backs them, what a store must publish, how each is detected, and which to implement first. - [AI crawler and agent user agents: the 2026 reference for stores](https://is-agentic-storefront.com/guides/ai-user-agents.md): Every major AI crawler and agent user-agent token, whether it trains, powers AI search or acts for a shopper, and the robots.txt an online store should use. - [How the agent-readiness score works: methodology and limits](https://is-agentic-storefront.com/guides/scoring-methodology.md): How the Agent-Friendly Ecommerce Store Scorer tests a store over HTTP, weights 29 checks across five categories, assigns grades, and what it leaves out. - [Agent readiness vs SEO: what's different for ecommerce](https://is-agentic-storefront.com/guides/agent-readiness-vs-seo.md): Where agent readiness overlaps with ecommerce SEO (sitemaps, JSON-LD, SSR, canonicals) and what is new: AI bot policy, operable pages, UCP, MCP and llms.txt. - [Is Shopify agent-ready?
